Can you fix a leaking chimney? +
Yes. Chimney leaks usually come from failed flashing, perished mortar or cracked rendering. We trace the source and repair it properly with new leadwork or repointing so the leak stops for good.
What is chimney repointing? +
Repointing means raking out the old, perished mortar between the bricks and replacing it with fresh mortar. It keeps water out and stops the stack deteriorating further.
Do I need my chimney rebuilt or just repaired? +
If the brickwork is sound, repointing and new flashing are usually enough. If the stack is leaning, badly cracked or crumbling, a partial or full rebuild is safer. We'll advise honestly after inspecting it.
Can you remove a chimney we no longer use? +
Yes. We can take the stack down to roof level (or lower) and make the roof watertight and tidy, matching the surrounding tiles.
